Summary
 

Plans, implements and manages nursing care for Residential Living (cottage and apartment) residents (Villagers) in accordance with established CKV--TBHC policies and procedures and applicable regulations. Identifies appropriate services available in the Community and helps link residents with the needed services, especially as they relate to the health, safety and welfare of these residents. Makes periodic home visits and maintains contact with the residents and family when needed. Works independently under consultative direction to accomplish long-range goals. Assignments, very often, are self-initiated. Develops solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovation. Quality of decisions made contributes to the physical well-being, safety and comfort of the residents and to the success of the Home. Responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent customer service through Residential Health Department staff, policies and procedures.


Education and Experience 

Understanding and application of nursing in gerontology along with management principles, concepts, and practices acquired through satisfactory completion of a professional nursing program. Must be certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania and have a minimum of three years professional clinical experience. Maintains appropriate license in Pennsylvania and is certified in CPR. Continuing education as required per state/federal regulation. Attends staff inservices as required.
