Personal Care Attendant (Mission Point)
 

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) to become a part of our team and help provide our residents with the highest quality of care. As a PCA working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.
 

Our current needs include:

  • Part-time Evening Shift, working 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. every other Saturday and Sunday. 
  • On-call as needed

Personal Care, more commonly referred to as PC Mission Point, is designed for individuals who wish to remain independent when staying at home has become impractical or unsafe. Some of our residents might have limited mobility whereas others might be experiencing various degrees of memory loss. Regardless of their circumstance, Personal Care at CKV actively promotes residents aging in place. Our team members work together to create a more active and purposeful life for our residents, so they can lead healthier and more fulfilled lives.

 

Job Description:

As a PCA, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Providing direct care to residents with a variety of functional levels; from those who are alert, oriented, and relatively independent, to those who need assistance with several activities of daily living or those who require cuing due to cognitive impairment. Personal Care services include, but are not limited to, assistance with hygiene, bathing, dressing, incontinence management, applying/removing medical devices, and care of clothing. 
  • Assisting residents with general housekeeping duties as well as serving and monitoring meals.
  • Participating in the review/revision of resident support plans and family meetings.
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents to nursing supervisors.
  • Documenting provided care in electronic care tracker.
  • Treating residents with respect in accordance with the resident’s Bill of Rights.
  • Maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience working with older adults is preferred.
  • Must possess a compassionate style of communicating with residents, families, team members and guests of CKV.
