Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a self-directed individual with a passion for education and memory care to join our team! As the Memory Support Education Coordinator, you will be the organization’s memory care educator and evaluator of direct care techniques used throughout the continuum of care.
This opening is a full-time, day shift position with the flexibility to to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Job Description:
As the Memory Care Education Coordinator, your scope of responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Identifying memory care educational needs of team members in all service lines.
- Developing educational presentations.
- Serving as the memory care educator to team members in all service lines across Cross Keys Village.
- Providing hands-on coaching to enhance the quality of life for residents, villagers, and participants living with neurocognitive disorders within the Cross Keys Village Campus.
- Reviewing programs and offering recommendations, training, and other resources to enhance programs and practices as assigned by Director of Memory Support.
- Working closely with the Director of Memory Support and leadership team in the respective service lines to enhance the resident’s quality of life.
- Working with the Administrator in each service line to meet memory care training requirements. Meeting regularly with Administrators to identify needs and develop POC. Has general understanding of regulatory requirements specific to neurocognitive disorders in each service line.
- Utilizing online learning platform to enroll and track team member attendance at memory care training.
- Communicating openly with the Director of Memory Support and the leadership team. Routinely providing updates on attendance.
- Responsible for the set-up and tear down of Lifespring Community Resource Center. Working with dining to provide refreshments as needed.
- Creating a catalog to communicate memory care training to all team members.
- Working with the Director of Memory Support to arrange expert educators in the field of memory care.
- Serving as a Co-Facilitator with the Director of Memory Support for all support groups. In the absence of the Director of Memory Support will run the support group independently.
- Serving as a co-facilitator for various support groups, lunch support groups, and Memory Cafes.
- Managing campus wide Music & Memory program and working with multiple service lines.
- Developing and facilitating the Inner Light Academy, Discovery Courses, and brain health initiatives campus wide.
- Working closely with Director of Memory Support and the Leadership Team to foster ongoing collaboration.
- Assisting the Director of Memory Support in making Cross Keys Village Campus a Dementia Friendly Campus.
- Work with the Director of Memory Support in implementing new training's and programs to enhance the lives of individuals living with neurocognitive disorders and their care partners.
- Bring new ideas for training, topics, and presentations for Cross Keys Village and the Greater Community.
Education Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in social work, gerontology, psychology, public health administration, or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Therapeutic Recreation experience is helpful.
- Nurse Aide training/certification is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in Senior Care Services is required.
- Credentialed as a memory support subject expert (Certified Dementia Practitioner).
- Prior experience in education is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of relevant technology applicable for the position.
- Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with others to achieve consensus and buy in.
