Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community is searching for a part-time Chaplain.

This position will be 30 hours per pay period during the day. A flexible schedule and hours are available!

SUMMARY:

 

The part-time Chaplain provides quality pastoral care/spiritual support to residents and families. He/she works independently under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Care to accomplish visitation and other assignments. He/she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent customer service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clinical duties: Provides spiritual support to assigned residents through visitation, Bible reading, friendly conversation, and listening skills. Conducts devotional services as back-up for Department Chaplains.
  • Counseling: Maintains supportive relationship with team members by being a resource and by providing guidance and/or referral for personal issues.

  • Electronically documents daily record of visitations. Attends/participates in Department staff meetings as available. Attends mandated training programs offered through Cross Keys Village.

     

EDUCATION/JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess an understanding and application of Biblical and pastoral principles, concepts and practices as acquired through college and seminary/ministry training leading to ordination.
  • Three to five years of previous pastoral experience.
  • Ordination or licensing must be kept current and in good standing according to Chaplain's denomination policy.
  • Must demonstrate servant leadership qualities and understanding of aging and death, and maintain an ecumenical perspective.
  • Must have clear and concise verbal and written communication.
