Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community is currently searching for a Caregiver to assist our Wellbrook Adult Day Services team on an ON-CALL basis. The Adult Day program runs Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., so this individual may be called at a moment's notice to assist with daily activities/responsibilities.

 

Who We Are: 

Wellbrook Adult Day Services, is a program designed to combine health services and social activities for individuals over the age of 18 who live with physical disabilities, mobility limitations or memory loss. With the ability to still live in the comfort of their own home, while still staying mentally and physically stimulated throughout the day, Wellbrook allows participants to stay engaged and enjoy the companionship of those around them.



Job Description:

As an On-Call Wellbrook Caregiver, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Carrying out concurrent activities and providing individual assistance, including direct assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, dining, ambulation and transfers.
  • Serving snacks and noon meal, as well as providing assistance and encouragement to participants at mealtime.
  • Providing light housekeeping duties (dishes, vacuuming, wiping tables, laundry, etc.) and maintaining an orderly environment.
  • Directing group activities and providing motivation for participants as directed by the Wellbrook Community Life Leader.
  • Monitoring participants’ physical and mental conditions and notifying supervisor or nurse of changes.
  • Opening and/or closing Wellbrook in the absence of the Adult Day Services Manager.
  • Distributing medications as prescribed. (Must successfully complete the Medication Certification program and subsequent reviews provided by CKV.
 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of related experience working with individuals in a healthcare or social service setting required.
  • Enrollment in the Nurse Aide Registry of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania preferred.
  • Must possess good communication and customer service skills to routinely interact with participants, families and team members.
  • Must be flexible and willing to function as part of a team.
