Director of Grounds - Full-time

Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to serve as our Director of Grounds. In the role, you will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, safety, and serenity of our campus.

Job Description:
 

As the Director of Grounds, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Overseeing all Grounds Department operations and management.
  • Developing and executing long range plans outlining department direction, goals, and performance
  • Maintaining team member schedules, payroll and performance records.
  • Hiring, evaluating, motivating and coaching Grounds team members in accordance with Human Resources policies.
  • Developing annual department expense and capital budgets with final accountability for staffing, supplies, and equipment expenses.
  • Developing long range plans for modernization of the department and campus assets.
  • Promoting teamwork and implementing strategies to achieve department and community goals.
  • Identifying and presenting training programs designed to improve the skills of team members and increase the quality, efficiency and services across the campus.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Participating, attending and arranging meetings and committees as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with residents, team members, vendors and contractors to fulfill organization goals.
  • Working varied hours outside the normal work schedule.
 

Education and Experience:
 

  • Knowledge of horticultural best management practices related to a community environment.
  • Must have at least two years of post-high school professional or vocational training in landscape management, horticulture, or equivalent.
  • 5 years supervisory experience is required
  • PA pesticide applicator certification(s) preferred
  • Must Possess a valid driver’s license
