Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a Community Life Leader to become a part of our team and help provide our residents with new and exciting activities to enrich and fulfill their daily lives. As a Community Life Leader working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.

 

This opening is for a full-time position, working 75 hours per pay period, weekend and holiday rotation is required.

In our Health Care Center, more commonly referred to as Mission Point, you will find our outstanding team assisting residents in six distinct neighborhoods – specializing in long-term care, memory care and short-term rehab. Our team members work together to create a more active and purposeful life for our residents, so they can lead healthier and more fulfilled lives.


Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community is currently seeking a Community Life Leader to join our memory care neighborhood, know as Somerset. Somerset is a specialized environment for individuals with a diagnosis of neurocognitive disorder or dementia, designed to provide an optimal environment during the late stages of their disease. CKV team members work together to provide Somerset residents with guidance, cueing, engagement, and socialization to support their best life.

 

Job Description:

As a Community Life Leader, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Providing daily programming and individual/group activities on an assigned neighborhood, which contributes to the resident’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.
  • Participating in the planning, research and development of activity assignments.
  • Documenting resident progress as it relates to the Plan of Care, and recording daily activity attendance including behaviors, responses, participation and refusals.
  • Making recommendations to the Director of Community Life for adaptations in activity/program content and scheduling to better meet the needs of residents.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively and efficiently both verbally and written.
  • Must display enthusiasm, willingness and an aptitude for working with a variety of people as well as an empathetic approach to illness and the older adult.
  • Must possess dependability, punctuality, creativity, flexibility and patience.
