Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant 

Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is seeking a friendly, dependable individual to join our team. As a Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant, you’ll help create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents while working in a supportive community guided by Christian values.
 

All Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant positions are eligible for CKV's current Welcome Bonus! 
 

• Full-time Day Shift; working 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 37.5 hours per week. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Part-time Day Shift; working 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 30 hours per week. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. (This part-time position is eligible for full-time benefits)

Job Description
 

As a Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• Cleaning neighborhood areas including hallways, resident living areas, lounges, bathrooms and utility rooms.
• Extracting carpets in resident rooms and other areas as assigned.
• Sorting soiled articles according to type, color and contamination, removing stains if possible, weighing soiled laundry loads, and washing soiled laundry.
• Drying wet laundry loads at proper temperatures and drying times, removing when dry and taking to the sorting area and removing worn and torn pieces to be repaired or discarded.
• Sorting, folding and hanging linens.
• Collecting soiled clothing and delivering clean, personal clothing to residents.
• Maintaining the Cross Keys Village safety, sanitation and infection control policies.
• Keeping resident/employee confidentiality and working as a team within the department.

Education and Experience
 

• Working knowledge of commercial cleaning and floor care as would be acquired through a minimum of 6 months experience or 2-3 years general cleaning experience preferred.
• Proficient use of cleaning agents and use/maintenance of equipment including floor burnishers, carpet extractors and vacuum cleaners preferred.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, a friendly attitude and teamwork abilities.
