Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a skilled RN or LPN to manage and coordinate infection prevention and control IPC initatives and wound care programs within the healthcare center. As a member of our clinical team working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.


This opening is for a full-time salaried position working Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. On-call rotation is required.

Job Description:


As the Infection Prevention & Wound Nurse your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:
  • Leading and delivering regular education on IPC practices across all departments.
  • Providing ongoing IPC topics during nursing staff meetings.
  • Delivering annual education through CMS, CDC, APIC, and other reputable organizations.
  • Conducting routine audits of departmental functions related to IPC.
  • Reviewing admissions to determine if isolation or enhanced precautions are necessary.
  • Performing ongoing surveillance of infection trends and outcomes.
  • Annually reviewing and revising IPC policies based on CDC, DOH, and other regulatory changes.
  • Collaborating with the Medical Director and DON on policy updates.
  • Educating affected staff and share changes during QAPI meetings.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for IPC concerns with residents, families, medical providers, DOH, local hospitals, and health departments.
  • Notifying residents and representatives about new infections.
  • Representing the facility during DOH surveys or outbreak investigations.
  • Periodically reviewing EMR documentation for infections to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Report IPC findings and activities at QAPI meetings and meet regularly with the DON.
  • Providing education on wound prevention and care during staff meetings.
  • Offering 1:1 education when concerns arise regarding skin integrity.
  • Conducting routine audits of skin assessments, wound treatments, and prevention practices.
  • Leading and documenting weekly skin rounds to ensure early detection and proper intervention.
  • Reviewing the accuracy and completeness of skin assessments and wound documentation in the EMR.
  • Observing and participating in wound treatments weekly to ensure clinical best practices.
  • Annually reviewing and revising wound care policies and procedures based on regulatory and clinical updates.
  • Developing and implementing wound care protocols in collaboration with the Medical Director and DON.
  • Educating affected staff and present updates during QAPI meetings.
  • Educating residents and families about skin integrity and wound prevention upon admission.
  • Serving as the primary contact for wound-related concerns with families, MDs, DOH, and others.
  • Representing the facility during DOH surveys related to wound care.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania 
  • A minimum of 2 years professional clinical experience
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain preferred
  • Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) preferred
  • Familiarity with CDC, CMS, and DOH regulations is required
  • Proficiency with EMR documentation and data analysis is required
  • Must demonstrate CPR competencies
