Life Engagement Specialist - Personal Care (Mission Point)


Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a Life Engagement Specialist to become a part of our Personal Care team to help provide our residents with new and exciting activities to enrich and fulfill their daily lives. As a Life Engagement Specialist working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.
 

This opening is for a full-time position, working 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday with an every other Saturday rotation. Holiday hours may be required as needed.

Personal Care, more commonly referred to as PC Mission Point, is designed for individuals who wish to remain independent when staying at home has become impractical or unsafe. Some of our residents might have limited mobility whereas others might be experiencing various degrees of memory loss. Regardless of their circumstance, Personal Care at CKV actively promotes residents aging in place. Our team members work together to create a more active and purposeful life for our residents, so they can lead healthier and more fulfilled lives.



Job Description:

As a Life Engagement Specialist, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Developing and leading events, activities and programming which stimulate interest, enhance skills and talents, and promote a culture of full life engagement which is specific to each Resident.
  • Providing opportunities to address all aspects of wellness, including physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Enthusiastically promoting a sense of community, supporting a culture of inclusivity, and encouraging Residents to be engaged.
  • Finding creative ways to engage all residents. Persevering when soliciting engagement from residents who may be reluctant to participate.
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent customer service in all interactions with Residents, teammates, volunteers, families, vendors and others.
  • Encouraging involvement of all staff by offering opportunities for team members to participate.
  • Networking with activity personnel from other service lines. Engaging with external partners as needed.
  • Offering flexibility, problem-solving ability and a spirit of teamwork in all aspects of job performance.



Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Three or more years of related work experience desired. 
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess dependability, punctuality, creativity, flexibility and patience.
