Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a Medical Services Specialist to become a part of our team and help maintain proper order of residents’ medical records, so that we can provide them with the highest quality of care. As a Medical Services Specialist working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.

 

Our current needs include:

  • Full-time: Day shift working 75 hours per pay period.

Personal Care, more commonly referred to as PC Mission Point, is designed for individuals who wish to remain independent when staying at home has become impractical or unsafe. Some of our residents might have limited mobility whereas others might be experiencing various degrees of memory loss. Regardless of their circumstance, Personal Care at CKV actively promotes residents aging in place. Our team members work together to create a more active and purposeful life for our residents, so they can lead healthier and more fulfilled lives.

 

Job Description:

As a Medical Services Specialist, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and compiling clinical records including resident admissions/discharge, performing chart maintenance, purging and filing records, maintaining records relating to doctor’s books/lab books and calling to schedule x-rays or EKGs.
  • Coding diagnoses on admission of residents.
  • Scheduling medical and personal appointments for residents, submitting transportation requests, assigning appointments to escorts and accompanying residents on appointments when necessary.
  • Assisting in information examination and monitoring to ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rule and other regulatory standards.
  • Assisting with insurance updates and transcription of physician orders.
  • Assisting in preparation for and during regulatory surveys.
 

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience required.
  • Must be computer proficient in Word and Excel as well as office practices such as faxing, etc.
  • Must have extensive typing and computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain excellent customer service and be thorough and accurate in data collection.
