Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking a Community Life Leader to become a part of our Wellbrook Adult Day Services team and help provide our participants with the highest quality of care as well as exciting activities to enrich and fulfill their daily lives. As a Wellbrook Community Life Leader working at CKV, we will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.

 

Our current needs include:

  • Full-time: Day shift working 75 hours per pay period Monday through Friday. Holidays are not required.

Wellbrook Adult Day Services is a program designed to combine health services and social activities for individuals over the age of 18 who live with physical disabilities, mobility limitations or memory loss. With the ability to still live in the comfort of their own home, while still staying mentally and physically stimulated throughout the day, Wellbrook allows participants to stay engaged and enjoy the companionship of those around them.

 

Job Description:

As a Wellbrook Community Life Leader, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Providing daily individual/group programs by utilizing recreation and therapeutic services for the purpose of engaging the participant’s mind, body and spirit.
  • Researching, developing and implementing best practices as they relate to engagement of those living with Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia.
  • Coordinating monthly activity program, which includes the creation of a monthly calendar and communicating a list of supplies to manager.
  • Providing the team with direction, materials and resources for quality engagement programs that can be adjusted based on the needs of the participants.
  • Providing physical care as needed, which includes but is not limited to ambulation, transfers, toileting, bathing, showering, dressing, hygiene care, behavioral intervention, etc.
  • Serving snacks and noon meal, as well as providing light housekeeping duties.
  • Monitoring participants’ physical and mental conditions and notifying supervisor or nurse of changes.
  • Opening and/or closing Wellbrook in the absence of the Wellbrook Manager.
  • Serving as back-up to Wellbrook Manager.
  • Obtaining Medication Administration Certification as requested by Wellbrook Manager (provided by CKV) and administering medications per certification.
 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years’ experience in the Human Service field required.
  • Experience facilitating engagement programs required. Experience providing hands on care preferred.
  • Must possess good communication and customer service skills to routinely interact with participants, families and team members. Must be flexible and willing to function as part of a team.
